Studio Posen, the graphic design studio by Kristel Posen, who designed The Fresh Light’s logo too, teamed up with Anna Timmermans for this exciting project. They did a wonderful job designing the logo and menu layout for restaurant Yugen, runned by sisters Chloë and Magali, which was popping up during spring time in the Japanese garden in Hasselt.

Nathalie Van Durme is the face behind graphic design label Studio 19.09. She develops visual concepts with a strong focus on detail. Her work is based on the principles of a strong concept, simplicity, clarity and character. She is inspired by the passion of her clients and truly cares about their success. The studio focuses on creating a real story, a unique design and a perfect identity.

In this portret shoot I tried to capture the relationship between the designer, the lovely Nathalie, the design process and the final result. Because these three aspects are important to tell the story of Studio 19.09.

Yesterday I had the honor to be part of ‘Future Archive‘, an innovative project at Biennale Interieur curated by BaronessO. A selection of inspiring objects and furniture were selected to create a unique visual installation. I worked on a series of abstract compositions, determined by the strong shapes of the objects. Planes, lines and curves were the basic elements to build this series. By shooting the settings from top, and  using square view frames, the images became more abstract and universal. The soft and often complementary colors were used like it were paintings.

It was an amazing experience to style and shoot this images in the environment of the Biennale Interieur. Improvisation (I didn’t know which objects to expect) and interaction (instant feedback of the visitors hanging around) were key elements of the day. Thanks Baroness O. and Biennale Interieur for the opportunity and making this possible!

Biennale Interieur is celebrating their 25th silver edition from 14 to 23 October in Kortijk Xpo.  Baroness O. created a unique and interactive project: the  ‘Future Archive‘, a display of new objects and reigning trends, the most innovative furniture and accessories that every visitor should remember. A group of creatives is invited to create a visual installation with the pieces on show. I’m so happy to announce The Fresh Light is one of them! On Monday 17th October I will take over the Archive to create a series of inspiring captures. Floom will add the surprising element of food into the project.
